The team at Bango Media has put together a simple list of our top tips for putting on and managing a stellar event. We hope you find it useful!

  • Know your audience. It’s vital to know what is going to peak their interests and engage them. Once you know this you can make decisions on how you want to deliver your message or experience, making your event stand out.

  • Outline the benefits of attending. You need to make sure your event is compelling enough for people to take time out of their schedule to attend. It’s all about leaving no doubt as to why you are holding the event and letting guests know how they can benefit from attending. Making sure this is clear from the first invitation.

  • Set a budget & stick to it. This is not always possible, sometimes unexpected costs pop up. But it is important to sit down in the beginning and know how much you or your client wants to spend and how return-on-investment will be measured.

  • Create Buzz. Make sure your event will stand out! We know this is key in pr, having an event with an unique edge will ensure guests are excited to attend. Research past events or similar ones and know what you can do differently.

  • Know how you are measuring success. Is it purely profit related? Or is the event being held for networking purposes? Do these measures have a time limit on them, designed for immediate results or further down the track? Sit down with your client and make sure this is outlined.

  • Gain feedback. Speak to guests and/or your client to know what went well and what didn’t. First hand feedback is the best way to know how you can improve your next event.
